Langfjordbotn is a small village in the most northern part of Norway holding great snow late into the season and offering world class Splitboard touring. With endless options easily accessible from the road, a boat to reach more inaccessable tarrain and very few other tourers this place is turely magical. Add in quirky cafes serving traditional fish soup and naturally heated outdoor pools with perfect views of the mountains and ocean for a trip you won't forget in a hurry.
Adventure
This week is all about getting away from the crowds and exploring the what Finnmark has to offer under our own steam. With a local guide at our disposal, longer days and warmer temperatures we've got plenty of day light to pick and choose the best conditions. From early starts to evening sunset descents.
Flying into the Alta we'll pick up a hire Van for the week and make the 1 hour drive up north to Langfjordbotn through some unforgettable scenery. With 5 days of splitboarding we'll try and take a rest day in the middle of the week to recover go sight see and whale watching.
Accommodation
Accommodation is a self catered traditional house right on the fjord with a big open fire to warm up by after a long day in the mountains. This is a real snowboard adventure and unlike other trips we'll all muck in with cooking, washing up and splitboard preparation, plus plenty of games of cards for cores. From previous experience, this creates an amazing group bond and an unforgettable experience.
Considerations
With 5 days of pure splitboarding be prepared to ascend a minimum of 1000m vertical a day/ at least 3 hours of touring. There's no denying this is not for everyone and a strong level of fitness and freeride experience are required to enjoy this adventure. Some splitboarding experience is an advantage but not essential.
